One of the best things about volunteering is that you always get more out of it than you put in! The people you meet, the things you learn, the leadership skills you develop and the experiences you have heip build your career and your personal life.
ASID has many ways for you to get involved, share your expertise and enhance the interior design community at large!

Volunteer Positions / Committees:
Communications
Public Relations & Media
Ensure Communications Strategy is implemented with the media & general public.
Meetings are held as needed. More time is needed leading up to the ASID awards. Approximate time commitment 2-3 hours per month.
Website
Work with Communications Director, Chapter Administrator & Web Vendor to keep website content fresh and current. Interface with Board of Directors to ensure chapter communications strategy is implemented. Meetings are held as needed. Most work is done via e-mail or phone with an occasional meeting (4 per year). Approximate time commitment is 2 hours per week.
Annual Directory
Coordinate production of yearly member directory with our publisher. Interface with layout artist, proofread and determine content. 1 Meeting Per Year. Approximately 2 months prior to publication.

Membership Director
New Member Welcome
Contact new members to welcome them to the Chapter. Accompany them to the next event and introduce them to other members of the chapter.
Membership Drive
Annual Membership Drive identifies and contact potential members and follows up on retention reports. Most work done by phone on your own time.
Professional Development
Professional Development Director
STEP
Plan 2 STEP (Self Testing Exercises for Pre-Professionals) workshops per year for those taking the NCIDQ. 5 hours per workshop.
Chapter Design Awards
Plan and implement the Chapter Design Awards competition, with the awards presented at the Annual Meeting in Sun Valley in October of each year. Co-ordinate with Communications Committee on having award winners published. One meeting Per Month. More may be needed closer to the event.
Annual Meeting Committee
Plan and attend the Annual Meeting in Sun Valley, 2nd weekend in October. 1 Meeting Per Month, more closer to the event.
Design Communities
Design Community ChairsWith our large geographic area, we have created design communities to better serve the needs of our members. Design Community Chairs organize various events through out the year. They are always happy to have people help out in any way, large or small. Also contact them with ideas for events or if you wish to host an event.
Design Community Finance Chair
Finance chairs keep track of budget, expenses, and income for regional ASID events.
Design Community Committees
Design Community Committee members work together to plan and implement ASID events in their region.
Student Chapter/School Visits
Visit schools and speak to students about your career, your product, your involvement in ASID.
Real World Design Week
