President’s Message
Welcome to ASID Intermountain Chapter! If you are a new member, we are excited to have you; if you are a returning member, welcome back!
Our mission this year is to empower you – our members – to help make ASID Intermountain an exciting organization to be involved in. You are vital to our chapter; we need you, your talent, and your input to have a successful year!
We started the year by holding our annual all-member conference call in conjunction with our Strategic Planning session. The Board received great input from all members who phoned in. From those suggestions, we built an aggressive and exciting working plan for 2011-2012. We hope by the end of this year, you will feel like our chapter is giving you the best resources and opportunities to further your careers.
We have one of the largest geographical ASID chapters in the nation – this is a blessing in disguise as we reach the most diversified designers in the country. However, we realize we cannot be everywhere. So the Board is implementing Design Communities in all of our major cities (i.e. Boise, Salt Lake, Bozeman) in order to offer more opportunities for you to further yourself and career as an Interior Designer. This also acts as a bridge between our Board and each individual member.
We would like to empower every member to get involved in some aspect of ASID, such as creating their own Design Community in their neighborhoods, speaking to students from our local universities, taking a STEP class in preparation for the NCIDQ or training to become a future board member. So if you want something in your local area and have an idea, please contact your local Design Community Chair or become one if you don’t yet have one!
I really look forward to working with each of you this year – together we will make our chapter exceptional. You have an amazing Board of Directors who is already pushing our profession and organization to the top. I hope you will join us in our efforts!
To a great year ahead,
Adrienne Lane-Martin, ASID
ASID Intermountain President 2011-2012
